These are a couple other artists I watch on ebay. Not that I ever buy any of their stuff, 'cause I'm broke and all, but I like to see what some people are capable of.
This piece is a water fairy by Fairies and Dreams. If you click on the pic, you can see how the fake water splashes up and beads on her legs.
And this one is by Dea Venustus. I love this piece. Even if you click on this pic, you can't see how beautifully sculpted the face is.
I covet talent like this. I can only hope that I'm as good at what I do as they are at what they do. Yes, I can draw a mean testicle, but would people buy it on ebay?

I wish I were this talented
These are amazing sculptures made of polymer clay by artist Nicole West. Polymer clay is actually manipulatable plastic that can be "fired" or cured in a toaster oven. Her pieces are usually 12 - 16 inches in height and are hand crafted without the use of molds. I am always so incredibly impressed by the amount of intricate detail she puts into each piece. The hair is usually tibetin lamb's wool, which is really soft.
These pieces are, in the order they've been posted, "Frost Queen", "Candy Girl" and "Titania, Harvest Queen". She sells them on ebay, but you've got to be willing to shell out some serious cash for them; they usually go for around a grand apiece.

Fabulous Pumpkin artist
Since everyone seems to have halloween on the brain, I came across this artist online.
Ray Villafane started out as a painter, morphed into a puppeteer and finally ended as a sculptor. He does amazing work with pumpkins, amongst other mediums.

Amazing Artist
CGUnit is a great online gallery of artists and their artwork. I usually don't post about many of their artists, however, because the vast majority of the artwork they pick is very similar. Very. They posted about this one, however, and it's so awesome and unique, I felt I had to share it. If you link to the artist's livejournal page, however, just be aware that it's in Russian.

Huge power...itty bitty living space
See this dude? His name is Willard Wigan. See that needle he's holding? See how teeny, tiny the eye of said needle is? He creates sculptures small enough to fit into the eye of that thar needle.
It all started when he was five, he says, suffering from dyslexia. To escape the constant criticism, he would create houses for ants, and then make outfits for them to wear. His sculptures were so tiny, that no one could see them in order to criticize them.
In one particular piece, written about in the Telegraph, he talks about a piece he was working on; all the characters of Alice in Wonderland. It was coming out so well, it was going to be his best piece to date.
"But just as I was about to put Alice in place alongside the other characters," [Wigan] pauses to compose himself - this big Brummie with conspicuous tattoos and diamond-encrusted watch, sucking in his bottom lip to stop it trembling - "I inhaled her. I breathed in at the wrong moment, and she was gone. In my panic, I accidentally wiped out some of the other characters too."
All of Wigan's artwork is small enough to fit on the head of a pin, and is carved with wee bits of diamond glued to the end of needles under 500X magnification. He paints his pieces with the hairs of a fly.
His chief materials, he says, are grains of sand. He says he has to work at night, when there are less cars on the road, and therefore less vibrations to disrupt his steady hand, which he controls by working between heartbeats.
Here we have Henry VIII with six of his wives. Doesn't he look like a philanderer and wife murderer?
See more pics of his pieces and read more about Willard Wigan here.

Thank gawd for CGunit, because otherwise I wouldn't have come across many of these artists who have become so well liked for me.
Here is artwork from Joao Paolo Alvares Ruas, from Brazil. His work is amazing. Go to his website for more.

Amazing Artist

So, I was browsing through the Mental_Floss daily Cup o' Links and found a link to this Danish artist named Peter Callesen. He makes this amazing art out of a single piece of paper. Click each of the pieces to enlarge.
I noticed one of his things is the negative space left on the paper looking like something alive, while the cut out has been squished and shaped to be bones. Very nice.
Check out his website for even more brilliant pieces. These are my favorite.
